SILVERLINING FURNITURE takes a hugely significant step on its journey to becoming the most creative and innovative furniture-maker in the world, by winning a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
No other business is quite like ours. Our clients hail from Dallas to Dubai; Moscow to Mumbai. They are the individuals who own breathtaking yachts in the waters off Monaco or fabulous
Park Avenue penthouses floating high above Manhattan.
What these clients all have in common is
an unrelenting search for excellence; we are extremely proud that they have chosen to place their trust in us to deliver results they cherish, not only as beautiful and functional furniture now, but as highly valued pieces of art for future generations.
From the earliest, often informal, conversation in which a client begins to articulate a vision of the outcome they seek, we focus on how we might translate those wishes into delivering extraordinary results. This means making sure we understand the priorities that are uppermost in clients’ minds, and that the design ideas we develop reflect those priorities, while naturally complementing the setting for the piece we are being challenged to create.
Time is a priceless asset: we understand this and commit all the time that is needed to bring ideas to life; through research and design and then into

identifying the most appropriate materials and techniques required for each piece. It may be that we apply integrated engineering solutions, using 3D printing and laser-driven cutting techniques, alongside the work of an exceptionally skilled artisan carving the most delicate preserved timber. Naming and dating with the famous Silverlining Furniture silver hallmark guarantees that all our work is built on transparency and authenticity.
Our home reflects Silverlining’s roots near
the Welsh border. We were founded by Mark Boddington in a humble setting within the inspirational grounds of a castle; growth since our inception in 1985 reflects the changing demands of the elite global market we serve.
Our first, small, commissions grew into greater challenges within the yachting world and then into the realms of European superyachts where scale and complexity rose to another level. Growth followed in more distant markets, especially Asia, the Middle East and the United States, taking us into clients’ homes and their personal retreats. Again, scale and complexity grew alongside expansion in the material and human resources we acquired.
Our reputation has been built solely on the results we have achieved, and the satisfaction clients have chosen to share with their peers, leading to ever-more surprising and exciting opportunities.

receive the Queen’s Award and the recognition it brings,” said Mr Boddington. “We have now grown to the point where we have an international
team of exceptionally talented individuals
who share a commitment to excellence, and
this award represents extremely prestigious acknowledgement of the efforts of all those involved, including the designers and clients who work so closely with the entire team.”
He added that from design and then through thousands of hours of furniture-making in each piece, through to the final installation anywhere in the world, Silverlining has the resources and confidence to meet each project’s exacting demands.
What of the future? We look to grow further through the Silverlining Furniture Academy, inspiring clients and artisans alike and ensuring our vision is shared for generations to come.
