A day of activity — including whales breaching,
cruise ships and fi shing boats passing, and eagles
soaring — in Robson Bight along the northeast
coast of British Columbia’s Vancouver Island, as
captured by the renowned photographer of the Day
to Night series. Working with the Cetus Research &
Conservation Society, a local conservation group,
Wilkes created this image of the ecologically impor-
tant area by combining hundreds of photos taken
during a 26-hour period in August 2016.
