While he admits that a few of his
artistic efforts have not ‘gelled’,
some of these have recovered
after thoughtful consideration.
He attributes his creative
disappointments, in most cases, to
a poor choice of subject matter.
Dozens of John’s paintings have
a permanent place in his own home
because he does not want to part
with them.
This talented artist tutors
regular adult art classes, and also
demonstrates at art exhibitions
whenever he can. He is only
too happy to pass on any clues
and advice he can offer to assist
developing artists.
John Shields’ ultimate artistic goal
is to keep improving in his traditional
representation of the Australian
countryside. O
