All the images we see
here are shot abroad.
Do you not find the
same beauty in India? Bird’s Eye View
During my previous
two exhibitions, I
had displayed more
pictures from India.
The recent years have
given me a chance to
go abroad since my
children are abroad.
Hence you find more
‘foreign’ images than
‘Indian’.
We find the same
beauty here in India
but in most foreign
countries, they take
better care of nature.
They preserve nature,
never destroy it.
People there are
more conscious
and have a better
understand of the
value of nature. Also,
the facilities provided
to photographers are
much greater than
what we find here in
India. Photography
is encouraged, not
discouraged. There
are no restrictions to
photography as here in
India.
What advice would
you give to budding © Dr. Kiran Desai
nature/landscape
photographers?
My advice to new
comers: Take plenty
of photos, study them,
and try to find out your
mistakes. Improvise
the next time when you
shoot; take the help
of your mentors and
teachers. But the most
important from my
point of view – never
Smart Photography February 2018 give up. Frustrations
will come your way.
Consider them as a
part of the learning
