More recently (since around 2006), a number of ‘home-use’ IPL systems which claim to remove hair. These tend to be low power/energy units with very little control of the output. However, they have gained popularity across the world with many users.
The first of these laser units was the “Rio” from the Dezac Group and the “Tria” from SpectraGenics. The first IPL unit was the “Silk’n” devices which was launched in the UK in 2008.
