The Estero Fine Art Show Announces Professional and Youth Art Winners
Civil War Ft. Myers— Hot Works 23rd Estero Fine Art Show was held this January 4-5 at JetBlue Park in Ft. Myers. Many of the
Collector patrons who attended were complimentary of the show – they were happy to see many artists not seen at other area
shows – and they commented about the quality of art at the show. The location offers plenty of room to grow.
Seventeen artist awards were presented at the show. The Judge was Nathan Beard, professional artist of St. Petersburg,
By John Sexton FL. Criteria was based on originality, technique/execution and booth appearance. As part of their commitment to bring art
education into the community, Hot Works integrated a Youth Art Competition for ages 5-13. Sponsored by Institute for the
Arts & Education, the associated 501c3 non-profit, students are encouraged to submit original art to be publicly displayed
in the art show the entire weekend. Each winning youth artist received the same, two-foot-long beautiful ribbon that the
professional artists received. There was $250 in Youth Art Awards as students begin to learn the rules of being part of a
professional art show. A special thank you to Art Teacher Elizabeth Olancin with Gulf Elementary School and Art Teacher
Laura White with Rayma C. Page Elementary School for entering their students in this very important program, which is
unique and one-of-a-kind within Hot Works shows. To date, more than 3,400 students have participated in this program.
