LEARNING FOR LEADERSHIP
With the Mile High City as the backdrop, students from nearly 65 campuses across
the nation met up at the third biennial Student Vice President Leadership Summit
this past summer in Denver. The two-day event, hosted July 14-15, paired tips on
how to successfully promote and enhance chapters of Phi Kappa Phi with resources
on sharpening personal leadership skills. In addition to learning the ins and outs
of Phi Kappa Phi and what it means to be a student vice president, attendees
drilled down into personal leadership during a day-long interactive event hosted by
Collegiate Empowerment.
“Before coming to the Summit, I felt as though I was swept into a whirlwind. I was
nominated by the previous student vice president and a faculty member and had no
idea what was to be expected, neither of me, or the situation I was put in,” said an
attendee at the Summit. “As of now, I have a newly gained confidence in myself, and
a lot of ideas on how to further our chapter’s success.”
