In the pages that follow, we invite you to Executive Director
reflect with us on the impact your generosity
has had in the past year on the Society and
your fellow members. Over time we’ve seen
a steady increase in the number of members
engaging through gifts, not only financial,
but of that most precious asset, time. Over
1,600 members serve as chapter officers at
our more than 300 active chapters; over
100 volunteers serve on national boards
and committees, the majority on selection
committees for our various awards.

Yet those awards would not be possible
without your help. Never underestimate the
value of your gifts of whatever size. Together
they compound the Society’s ability to
increase the number and amount of awards
made each biennium, which in turn extends
the love of learning that is at the heart of
our community of scholars.

We are mindful that none of us is in this
alone. We are so very grateful to have you
as partners in our stewardship of the future.
