common noUns and proper noUns
A common noun names general items. EXAMPLES: princess, magician, country.
A proper noun names a specific item and it will begin with a capital letter it does not matter where it occurs in a sentence.
EXAMPLES: Balna, India, Punchkin
Read the sentences. Underline the common nouns. Circle the proper nouns.
1. India is a great country.
2. Balna the princess, was quite beautiful.
3. Punchkin was an evil magician.
4. King Emir is a powerful man.
5. I’ve never seen a pomeloe tree.
6. Balna showed great courage.
7. The Ranee was a wicked stepmother.
