Plural nouns:
When a noun names only one, it is said to be singular. A plural form of a noun names more than one. It usually ends with s or es.
EXAMPLES:
carpenter-carpenters oyster-oysters sun-suns
Nouns ending in s,ss, z,zz, x, sh, and ch form the plural by adding es.
EXAMPLES:
bush-bushes bus-buses class-classes
Nouns ending in y preceded by a consonant is formed into a plural by changing y to ies.
EXAMPLES:
family-families butterfly-butterflies lady-ladies
Nouns ending in y preceded by a vowel form their plurals by adding s.
EXAMPLES:
boy-boys valley-valleys toy-toys
