predicted, and threats of annihilation from Israel’s neighbors continue to blanket
the country with dread. But BFP is here to stay, regardless of the hardships and
dangers that are a reality in the Land. Despite an uncertain international financial
situation, Christians continue to show their love for Israel and the Jewish people
by supporting the work with their prayers, their dollars, and their volunteer efforts.
Gentile believers in Yeshua (Jesus) continue to come to do the work of BFP. And
while they are here, they ride the same buses, live in the same neighborhoods,
and shop in the same markets as Israelis, facing the same dangers and stresses
every day. They live each moment committed to being a blessing to every Israeli
they meet, bringing love and friendship, hoping in some small way to help erase
the pain of the past and create a new picture in the Jewish mind―a picture of
Christians who love, who are filled with mercy and marked by kindness,
Christians who will be their friends come what may.
BFP was a seed God planted in the heart of Dr. G. Douglas Young, who
embraced it enthusiastically. His selfless love for the nation of Israel and the
Jewish people had already created a foundation on which BFP could be built.
And build, God did. Today, BFP is an international organization, known for its
unwavering support for Israel, marked by excellence in its educational materials,
and unsurpassed in its humanitarian work in the Land. As God continues to focus
the eyes of the world on this tiny strip of real estate, His call to BFP remains
clear. Only He knows what is on Israel’s horizon, whether it be poverty or plenty,
war or peace. But whatever the future holds, BFP will strive to honor the memory
of Dr. Young through our commitment to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
and to the Land and the people He marked as His everlasting possession.
