MISSION STATEMENT
Bridges for Peace is a Jerusalem-based, Bible Believing Christian organization
supporting Israel and building relationships between Christians and Jews
worldwide through education and practical deeds expressing God’s love and
mercy.
EXPANDED MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Bridges for Peace is to build bridges of understanding and
support between the Christian and Jewish communities – to begin a process of
healing ancient wounds and misunderstandings that have long endured between
Christians and Jews. We do this by expressing support for the Jewish people in
tangible ways and by educating Christians about the Jewish roots of Christianity
and the value of interpreting the Bible from a Hebraic perspective.
We are also vitally concerned for the present and future well-being of Israel as a
Jewish state in the Middle East, and of her citizens. We see this as a biblical,
historical and moral mandate for Christians. We express our support with
tangible social assistance to the people of Israel through our Operation Ezra
projects, and by publicizing our pro-Israel views through public demonstration,
the media and our publications.
EVANGELISM STATEMENT
“Bridges for Peace is a Jerusalem-based, Bible-believing Christian organization
supporting Israel and building relationships between Jews and Christians
worldwide through education and practical deeds expressing God’s love and
mercy.
The History of Christian-Jewish relationships is seriously marred by the anti-
Semitic behavior of Christians toward Jews. The Crusades, the Inquisition, the
pogroms, and the Holocaust and other such persecutions have left a deep wound
in the Jewish soul. Tragically, established Christian denominations and
institutions participated, either actively or by turning a blind eye, in these
atrocities. This has created an atmosphere of fear and distrust that has made
honest communication between the two communities nearly impossible.
Bridges for Peace is a Bible-believing Christian organization, which does not
proselytize. We are committed to being living witnesses of the love of God in the
name of Jesus through unconditional friendship and support, in order that the
wounds of the past may be healed and doors of communication can be opened
between Christians and Jews.”
