In Amateur Singles, 35 players were on hand for some Friday night fun, in the end it was Tim Merrill from Gilmanton Iron Works, NH winning the event, but the most interesting part was he had to play his long-time friend and Scotch Doubles partner Brian Harris from Gilford, NH and guess what, they win the Scotch Doubles event as well!
Playing in the Women’s Open Singles is Linda Miller from Northfield, Vermont with her Fan Club cheering her on! Also showing good Sportsmanship after losing a close match against Cherri DiSilva.
Winners of the Women’s Singles, L to R Elizabeth Jameson/Absolut Representative, Jackie Goglen, Nicole Spooner, Cherri DiSilva and Gregg Neylon on top who was a very helpful staff member throughout the weekend.
Vinny Corneau is all smiles now that he doesn’t have to play with his Scotch Doubles partner. LOL.
We finished the weekend off on Sunday with a 30 plus roster in Open 9-Ball event. It was a race to 3 on both the winners and the loser’s side. With just a Race to 3 you would think matches would move along fairly quickly. Well, there was some stiff competition, and many matches went Hill to Hill. In the Semi Finals match on the Winners side it was Troy Fortin from Vermont and Wayne Reynolds from Nashua, NH. It was a tough match and Wayne came out on top. So now Wayne was sitting patiently in the Hot seat. Troy, would have loved to have that match back, but it wasn’t going to happen with out going through another tough Vermont
