   United States. Having accumulated an impressive number of national and pro/am titles, it is considered by many to be one of the most successful junior
programs in North America.
During the last 8 consecutive WPA
World Junior Championships, the program has had anywhere from 2-5 of its students selected every year to represent the United States on the American team. Students most recently traveled to Austria, the island of Cyprus, Moscow, and Shanghai,
Hampshire before losing steam during the Covid shut down.
The Red Dragon Billiard Club has grown into a lynchpin for online instruction. During Covid Roy started the American Online Pool School (Americanpoolschool.com), offering training online for not only the pool player, but also for individuals desirous of obtaining their teaching credentials. Through the school, players from all corners of the US, Canada, Europe,
teaching lessons via Zoom, Facebook, and other online platforms. The Break and Run Program now has about a dozen volunteer PBIA instructors offering instruction to junior players on four continents.
Roy and the BCA Break and Run Program have recently joined forces with the South African junior billiard program “Pool4Change”. They have entered into an agreement with the South African school system, offering in person and online training and coaching to potentially
to compete against the best junior players from upwards of 28 countries around the world. Three students have represented the United States in its pool rivalry against Europe in
the Atlantic Challenge Cup.
The junior program has expanded
over the years. There is a second physical junior program located at the Weymouth Teen Center in Weymouth Ma. A third physical program flourished in New
Australia, and Africa, have acquired their PBIA teaching accreditation.
Perhaps the most exciting transition to online training has been the development of the Break and Run Premier Junior Instruction Program (http://playbetterbilliards.com/ jr-instruction/). This is a BCA program offering free online instruction to junior players. Roy developed the curriculum and is the lead instructor for the program. He can be seen often at the Red Dragon creating junior instructional videos and
