Children’s Day Celebration – 14.11.2019
The Special Assembly for the Children’s day was an eagerly
awaited one for the students. Adorned in colour dress, they were
impatiently waiting for the entertainment programme by the teachers
for their benefit. The programme put together by the educators was
a combination of spreading moral values intermingled with fun and
laughter.
Bringing the house down were the Class 2 and 3 teachers
who conducted a quiz programme (in the form of a skit), where the
students could relate themselves to several incidences enacted by the
teachers. The teachers of Classes 4 and 5 had a debate on “Education
or Discipline”. The thought provoking speeches brought the judge, our
Principal, to conclude that ‘Unless there is discipline, education cannot
be valued’. Teachers from Classes 8 and 9 performed a ‘Villu Pattu’ –
a message conveyed to students in an enjoyable manner which was
appreciated by the students. The finale was a solo dance for a popular
Hindi number. It was a memorable day not only for the learners but for
the educators as well.
Fitness Week Celebration– 13.11.2019 to 19.11.2019
For any society or Nation to progress, it’s important that their citizens are physically fit. The challenges of
the modern day life has brought along with it the need to be more physically proactive and fit in order to face its
challenges with optimum energy and positivity. Fit children areable to handle day-to-day physical and emotional
challenges better. However, for a holistic and intrinsically healthy lifestyle, awareness and support for fitness
movement is more essential than ever.
To infuse physical activity in our daily life, we at San Academy Kamakoti Nagar, conducted various
sessions for different classes during the week. The importance of Yoga and the need to inculcate it into our daily
lives was instilled by our KG Head, Mrs. Geetha. A talk on ‘Fitness and Nutrition’ by Ms Preeti, our school counselor,
ingrained in the young minds that fitness and nutrition go hand in hand. Students of Classes 4 and 5 took part in
poster making competition on the theme ‘Fit body – Fit mind – Fit environment’. Our Physical Education teacher
taught the students some free-hand exercises, so that they could be done without any supervision or on a specific
time only. Co-curricular activities of our school like aerobics, dance and martial arts also keep us physically supple
and fit. This was explained by the trainers. A quiz on traditional games from our state and neighbours was conducted
which was enthusiastically participated by students from classes 7 to 9.On the whole the school ensured that the
activities undertaken conveyed the importance of fitness loud and clear.
