Struggling to decide a local time in advance. You will have
wedding vs a destination wedding for you BIG DAY ? Here some facts about both
of them, that maybe helping you to decide.
PRICE: Some of couples choose a destination wedding because of its price. Typically, the cost of a destination wedding is approximately 10% cheaper than that of a local wedding. A luxurious wedding in the romantic place with cheaper price? Everybody should have destination wedding, right? Don’t forget that it can be nightmare for the people who pay for their own air tickets and accommodation fee to attend your wedding. It might be cheaper for you, but not for the others who come over to celebrate your day.
HONEYMOON: In a destination wedding you will have your paradise dreamed place already there. Two birds with one stone. However, you will have your close friends and family near you. In a local wedding, you will have the emotion to do something completely private and romantic.
VENDORS: In a local wedding all the vendors you have to visit and choose them with a lot of
the opportunity to meet them and to text them if you like. In a destination wedding, you have everything there but you have to take the risk that they will not meet your expectations. It is highly recommended to bring your own photographer. It could cost the same like local photographer but you get so much more in value.
PEOPLE: Usually most of the destination wedding are small. Average of 40-60 guest. It means that the truly close family and friends are going to be there celebrating with you. However, there are cases that people that you really want to be there with you, they cannot make it because of the money or the time problems. It is such a hurt feeling for you and them. In a local wedding, average 120-160 people - you have the opportunity to invite family, colleagues, teachers, friends and neighbours that mean something special to you and share your happiness with them.
At the end, destination or local wedding depends of your style: want to have a small and cozy ceremony with your close friends and family in a hot weather resort or have a lot of people that you love at your own town... want to
have a long but exited preparation of every single detail or a quick easy preparation in a one-stop-shop resort...
