Four—Secret Portrait Painter
“I like your manners,” said DJ, smiling at the four children. “Solly likes your manners, too.” Solly was clapping his hands and making jabbering noises.
Carrying Solly, DJ started down the long carpeted hallway. Grami, Aimi, Tad, Toni, and Connor followed. At the end of the long carpeted hallway, DJ opened a tall glass door. He led them into a large room.
“Welcome to my studio,” said DJ.
“Aimi told us you had lots and lots of windows,” said Connor. “She was right.”
“Yes,” said DJ. “I need lots and lots of natural light when I paint a portrait.”
“Where is my portrait?” asked Aimi.
“Is it under that big velvet cloth?” asked Connor.
