Adventures of Aimi
Keeto looked at the seeds with one eye. He turned his big green head and looked at the seeds with his other eye. Then he flew down to the stone wall. Aimi watched the big green bird pick up a seed. She was so excited she clapped her hands and jumped up and down and up and down.
“Careful,” said Grami. “Keeto might be frightened by your clapping and jumping.” But Keeto did not act frightened. He stood on one foot and used his other foot to hold the seed. He cracked the shell with his beak and dropped the empty shell on the stone wall. Keeto ate all the sunflower seeds on the stone wall. Soon sunflower-seed shells were everywhere. On the stone wall, on the grass, and on the path.
“I like watching you eat seeds, Keeto,” said Aimi. “You are a clever bird. Too bad you are not as pretty as Peacock. You are only one color. Green. But you can talk. Peacock cannot talk. Peacock can only screech and strut and strut and
screech.”
