“Is this a birthday present?” asked the checkout girl with freckles on her little turned-up nose.
“Yes,” said Aimi. “I’m invited to the birthday party for the twins. But Tad already had his birth day. Sunday is the anniversary of his birth day.”
“I never thought of that before,” said the checkout girl with freckles on her little turned-up nose. “Who taught you that?”
“Grami,” said Aimi, smiling.
“Do you gift-wrap?” asked Grami.
“Yes,” said the checkout girl with freckles on her
little turned-up nose. “It’s right over there,” she said, pointing to the next desk. Grami and Aimi took the book about rabbits to the gift-wrapping desk.
