EARLY LEARNING 2020: Leading & Learning in the New Decade WEDNESDAY
12.05 | What Does Your Environment Say?
CKC | K5.4 C2
Tricia Conver, Educational Quality and Training Specialist, Bright Horizons
Have you ever walked into a space and just immediately felt a sense of belonging and comfort? High-quality programs understand that environments are an essential part of learning and development. Carefully and purposefully developed classrooms reflect the children that live there, their emerging needs, interest, and culture. An encouraging classroom environment also builds social-emotional competency, can reduce challenging behaviors, and supports the curriculum. Learners will examine how everything from room arrangement, materials, aesthetics, and routine makes a difference in the child’s experience. Learners will have the opportunity to reflect on their classroom environments and develop strategies for enhancement.
