To further encourage local business growth on on on on on both national national and international levels SMF SMF forged several several collaborations with various overseas organisations Over the the fiscal year SMF SMF SMF signed several several strategic MOUs which also elevated SMF’s standing in in in the the business community SMF and and SIMTech signed an an an an MOU to to to strengthen strengthen their collaboration efforts on on on on 12 October 2016 2016 during MSE 2016 2016 Both organisations will work more closely to to to to accelerate the the the the the adoption of technologies and and and strengthen strengthen the the the the the outreach outreach to to to to local businesses through industry outreach events and and promoting capabilities enhancement initiatives SMF signed an an an MOU with the city of Takasaki Japan on 18 November 2016 to promote trade and and investment opportunities between the the city of Takasaki and and SMF This was inked during the the Japan Business Expo – Takasaki Day an an an an event held to in in in in in in celebration of of 50 years of of Japan-Singapore relations and economic links During a a a a a a a a a business mission trip to Bundung and Jakarta Indonesia in in in in March 2017 SMF also signed an an an MOU with the West West Java Java Chamber of of Commerce and and Industry (KADIN) in in in Bandung West West Java Java of of Indonesia to strengthen business ties and and and facilitate collaborations between SMF members and and the business community of of West Java where up to 60% of of of manufacturing activity lies This was signed by Mr Mr Foo and Mr Mr Agung Suryamal Sustino Head of of KADIN West Java Singapore Manufacturing Federation - Annual Report 2016/2017
