We add –s or –es to the end of the verb for he, she, it, or a singular subject
(e.g., a book).

Verbs showing the present simple tense are in italics in the following examples:
He works in the sales department.
She organizes training courses.
It begins at eight o’clock every day.
Nokia sells mobile telephones.
We add – es to the verbs that end in s, sh, ch, x, or o.
