A human being is like a wave, unaware that its underlying reality is the ocean, the Cosmic Reality. This is again and again indicated by all religions of the world. When Moses asked God His name, the Divine voice said, “I Am That Am I,” which is a translation of “Soham Asmi.” That “I Am” in you that transcends the limited human ego is the eternal Self. If that understanding is developed through prayer and re ection, you will attain perfection— the vertical vision.
Let Your Eye Be Single
No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lamp stand, so that those who enter may see the light. The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness.

If your egoistic (or horizontal) vision were to be transcended, you would discover that the Divine Vision, God’s eye, is the Reality within you. It is the vertical axis, the single eye. The vertical axis refers to the intuitional mind. When the intuitional mind transcends the senses and the ego, the horizontal plane of the Cross, it perceives nonduality. God
