Ville. Following the path of spiritual movement, they become witnesses to the glorious miracles of the Divine Self operating through them. They realize that all prophecies were symbolic statements referring to the Truth of the Self that lies within. Spiritual forecasts presented by great prophets were not referring to historical developments in time and space, but to the understanding of the utmost unfolding of Divine potentiality that exists within every man and woman.
The inhabitants of Nazareth misinterpreted this af rmation of ful llment within the soul of man. They mistakenly thought this Divine Truth to be an egoistic statement of blasphemy. The cause of their misunderstanding was their familiarity with Jesus. They could not outgrow their old concepts to see who He was in the present moment. It is important for an aspirant to outgrow meaningless concepts on the spiritual path. The movement should be from the known to the unknown, from the relative world of multiplicity to the transcendental realm of Nonduality. Nonduality is an unknown territory for an aspirant. This great need for adjusting to the ever-new vision arising from the soul must be recognized, lest the atmosphere of contempt based upon familiarity ousts the “Jesus” in man. However, it is impossible to throw Jesus off the cliff—to remove Him from one’s consciousness. He continues to move on in spiritual silence.
