With All Thy Soul
To love God “with all thy soul” relates to the path of Jnana Yoga, the Yoga of Wisdom—the path of re ection and enquiry. As an aspirant, you listen to the teachings of the scriptures and begin to understand the nature of your individual soul. Through re ection and meditation, you fathom the depths of your personality to discover the soul that is the source of your ego. As your re ection and meditation deepen, you gain insight into the fact that your innermost soul is different from the body, mind, senses, and ego. That soul is the soul of the entire universe. It is identical with the Supreme Self. You attain the intuitional vision that leads to the direct realization, “I am That—the Absolute Self.” This is expressed in the statements of Christ, “Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?” (John 10:34) and “Behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (KJV Luke: 17-21) These statements point to the essential teachings of Vedanta philosophy: The essential identity of every individual is the same Absolute Self. Realizing that identity by discovering your innate Self is the goal of the path of Jnana Yoga, the Yoga of Wisdom.
