Indigenous Veterans                                 Books of Remembrance

                                                             The seven Books of Remembrance commemorate the
                                                             lives of more than 118,000 Canadians who, since
                                                             Confederation, have made the ultimate sacrifice while
                                                             serving our country in uniform.  The names inscribed in
                                                             the Books of Remembrance can also be found in the

                                                             Canadian Virtual War Memorial.
        National Indigenous Peoples Day is celebrated each
                                                             Every morning, at eleven o'clock, the pages of the Books
        year on June 21, while Aboriginal Veterans Day is

            honour of the contributions of all Aboriginal
          Canadians in war and peacekeeping operations.
