No Service Disruptions Expected as Lloydminster Airport
Rehabilitation Project Begins
Lloydminster AB/SK – On Monday, July 22, 2019, the City of
Lloydminster, in conjunction with Integrated Airport Systems
Ltd. and Central City Asphalt, will begin the Lloydminster
Airport pavement overlay and crack repairs.
The airport rehabilitation project consists of minor and major
crack repairs and runway, taxi and apron paving. The project
will take place outside of regular hours of operation. All
equipment shall be removed from the operational working
zones no later than 9 a.m. MDT.
Airport operation during rehabilitation project:
• The airport will remain open and operational between 10
a.m. and 5 p.m. MDT.
• Unscheduled charter and general aviation services will be
permitted during scheduled opening times only.
Transport Canada, Nav Canada, Civil Aviation Safety
Operations and other branches deemed necessary have been
notified and will remain updated throughout rehabilitation
project. Residents are advised to follow marked detour routes
and drive cautiously when passing construction crews.
The project is expected to be completed by mid August 2019,
weather pending.

During a regular City Council meeting on Monday, June 24, August 2019
2019, Council approved the award of the Airport Runway
Rehabilitation Project to Central City Asphalt of Blackfalds, 15 Aug Thu Board Meeting
AB, in the amount of $3,418,447.75, excluding GST. In
addition, Council approved a contingency allowance of 10 per 17 Aug Sat Norseman Engine Run Up
cent in the amount of $341,844.76, excluding GST, to be
