                                      Air and Space: Canadian Innovations

A collaborative project between the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada and the Canada Aviation and
Space Museum in Ottawa, Air and Space: Canadian Innovations provides an engaging multimedia experience
and reveals fascinating stories about Canadian aviation history.
The app brings to life ten of the most innovative aircraft from the museum with stories, videos, photographs,
and unique fun facts. From the Canadian Vickers Vedette Flying Canoe to the de Havilland Beaver and beyond,
these famous aircraft tell the story of aviation in Canada.

Built on a flexible platform and adaptable to the unique collections in the two museums, the multimedia guide
can run on your personal smartphone or tablet, or visitors can borrow in-house tablets that come with the app
        pre-loaded.

Air and Space: Canadian Innovations was created in conjunction with a new exhibit, James A. Richardson –
Father of Commercial Aviation in Canada.
This commemorative exhibit details how Richardson’s astuteness, integrity and energy laid the foundation for
Canada’s modern air industry. His airline – Canadian Airways Limited – would become the basis for Canadian
Pacific Air Lines, which in time and after many mergers would become Air Canada.
