The  confusion and grief of  the Sultan

                          were  terrible when  he  found  the  palace
                          vanished  and  his  daughter  lost.                        The

                          people  -an  in  fear  through  the  streets,
                          and  the  soldiers  were  sent  in  search  of

                          Aladdin,  who was  not yet returned from
                          hunting.
                              Aladdin  was  soon  met  with  and

                          dragged before the Sultan like  a criminal;
                          he  would  have  been  beheaded,  had  not

                          the  Sultan  been  afraid  to  enrage  the
