Yet in Ins lionet: bosom lies
Xor spot, nor speck,— though strll he cries,-- ■
i; Ch;-re o' ! chares ’ ! ”
And many a roguish lad replies,—
■‘Ark, ho ! ark, ho ! ”
‘Chareo ' ! "— "Ark, ho! — such various sounc.
Announce Mark Haley's morning rounds.
Thus ;d! the cold and wintry day
He labors much lor i:tt 1 e pay ;
Yet feels no less of happiness,
Than many a richer man, I lhlcw,
When through the shades of eve he soies

The light of his own home, mid cries,—

And Martha from the door replies,—-
“ Mark, ho! Mark, ho! ”
“ Charco ’ ! "— ‘‘ Mark, ho ! "— Such joy abound
When he has closed his daily rounds*
The hearth is warm, the ft re is bright.
And while hi.1; hand, washed clean and white
Holds Martha’s lender hand once more,

And baby -with a laugh replies,-
