                                          Seemed  to  link  in  strange  affright,

                                          Shadowed  races  dead  and  white  ;

                                       M eans  dial  ferried  spirits  over
                                          I)oath's  dark  wave  f.o  yonder  shore.


                                       W andering  where  a  footstep  careless
                                          Mi^hi.  go  splashing  down  in  blood,
                                       Or  a  helpless  hand  lie  grasping
                                          D eath  and  daisies  from  the  sod- -

                                       Captain  Graham   walked  swift  onward,
                                          W hile  a  faintly-beaten  drum
