CHAIRMAN’S
Message
David Cox
A Time of Transition
Happy New Year. 2019 was a year of transition for CANTO as we look toward its future, and the next 35 years of ICT advocacy.
At the 35th AGM held in Guyana in January, CANTO managed one of its most important transitions when former Chairman, Julian Wilkins, stepped down after serving two very
successful terms as Chair. I was pleased to be elected to succeed Julian and I am grateful for the support that I have received from the Board and from the Secretariat, and indeed from the wider CANTO family, since assuming that role. Thanks are due to Julian for his
unwavering support and service, which still continue to this day.
CANTO’s Performance
During the last year, CANTO continued its advocacy on the issues facing the Caribbean based ICT industry and attempted to strengthen its collaboration, with Caribbean and International ICT stakeholders. CANTO executed two very successful events focused on ICTs in the region.
The 35th AGM was held in Guyana and was a resounding success. Elections were held for no less than 7 positions on the Board and were executed smoothly.
