Page 9 - CANTO Annual Report 2019
P. 9
A number of delegates come for the social events, and most people who are involved with CANTO, think that its strength and value lies in the networking opportunities. Some respondents think our committee system, needs reform. They also think the Board could do a better job of leveraging the outputs of the Committees. There was a strong sense that our Exhibition is in serious need of revamping. We were grateful for all the feedback, and we’ve really listened.
Some of the feedback was very positive. People are optimistic about CANTO’s future. Most respondents believe in CANTO and support its mission. There is strong support for the Secretariat and there is confidence in CANTO’s Board and Leadership. Respondents are also willing to give their time and effort to help CANTO succeed.
There is an amazing amount of goodwill for CANTO, which our Board hopes to harness to positive effect. We’ve already begun to make changes to the way we do things, to start to address the feedback we received. Some of the changes will take time. You may notice small things at first. Others will happen quickly. But they will happen. For instance, look out for a different kind of agenda for the 2020 Annual Conference and please let us have your feedback on the changes we will make to our Opening Ceremony this year.
Conclusion
These are only some of the changes CANTO will need to make to survive, but other changes are on their way. We’re going to seek out new members. We’re going to look to create new efficiencies. And we’re going to try to ensure greater alignment between what our members want and what we deliver. And we’re going to succeed, because we’re going to Adapt, Enable, and Innovate.
We hope you join us for the journey.
