Undoubtedly, I believe that our region is ready to adapt.enable.innovate. Consider for a moment that we closed 2019 with the launch of 5G services in Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago through collaborations among our membership.
This 2020 AGM is the spark that will light the fires of informed discussions to take our Region forward into a new digitised space.
Our much-anticipated Annual Conference and Trade Exhibition at the Fontainebleau Hotel, South Beach, Miami, Florida from the 19th to 22nd July, will further allow us, as industry leaders, to share our views and expertise amongst each other and with our elected officials. Together we must all become the catalysts for change in our Region.
I am also pleased to reiterate that the Secretariat continues to seek your best interest as, we too, embrace new technologies. After three decades, Cancion, the Secretariat’s signature publication is going digital! Cancion will move to the revamped website, as CANTO grows its digital platform, to become more tech savvy and environmentally friendly. In addition, in keeping with customer trends, the contents of the Annual Directory will also move to a mobile application that will include enhanced features like calling directly from your smart phone.
I take this opportunity to thank our contributors to Cancion over the years. Each article has helped to shape our industry. Thank you for trusting us to market your brand through advertising and helping us to capture and hold the interest of our readers.
I encourage you to actively participate in this Annual General Meeting, debates and conversations. It is only through your interactions and feedback that we will successfully and definitively chart the course of the ICT sector in our Caribbean Region.
