to buy it without looking at the price tag. And through this missive I also
submit that I feel like buying everything under the sun. I like to buy all
kinds of shoes, jackets, shirts, ties, cameras, toys (I have a scaled model
of hummer and drones)… I buy literally everything that attracts me. Then I calm myself down
by telling to myself “ stretch your legs according to your blanket”
Q.What or whom are you scared of?
A.Since my childhood I am afraid of Ghosts. Most of you won’t believe that
even today I sleep with my lights on. The moment I switch off my lights I get
a sense that, either an image is standing in front of me, staring, or someone is beneath my
bed. I am an atheist but I fear Ghosts. Probably my mom used this side of me as an advantage
to put me on studies. My punishment used to be that if I don’t recite the lessons to her I will
have to sleep outside the home. Fearing this I used to mug up everything.
Q.Who is your favourite actor/actress? Why?
A.My all-time favourite actress is Shobhana. I so adore her. In my childhood I used to drool
over her. I so wanted to marry her. Her acting, dance, screen presence… uff I like everything
of hers. I secretly imagined her to be my wife and used to role play alone assuming her to be
with me. In male category, there are two actors I love. Amitabh Bachchan and Mohan Lall.
Amitabh Bachchan has got charisma. His on screen and off screen persona, his language
mastery, his speech, dressing everything. He, I guess is the only one who has aged gracefully.
Mohanlal purely for his acting. A natural actor and un-comparable in acting. Probably these
are only three actors, if I meet them somewhere, will take an autograph.
Q.What is your greatest fear in life?
A.The fear of getting written off: If someone pushes me to the wall or say I can't do it
then I put all the efforts to make myself perfect in that. I will share a small anecdote.
When I joined Salsa for the first time, my trainer and friends always used to say that I
am flat footed in dancing and very stiff to dance. This was still okay. But once my trainer told
me that Ajit the 360 deg turn (A style in Salsa), you cannot perform like Rao (Who was a batch
mate) that hurt the champion in me. I practiced 360 deg turn on a daily basis. And on LEVEL
FOUR test I performed 360 deg turn the best. Better than Rao. And the trainer himself told me
"Arey wah perfect kar liya. Bohot practice kiya lagta hai". I am like that. I cannot be written off
easily. (giggle)
Q.Do you like your food sweet or spicy? Name the dish.
A.I love deserts and I can gorge on them like main course. I have a history of
consuming 1 kg of butter scotch cake in one go. The irony is that I am
considered a fitness freak today and people think I am averse of tasty food.
Q.If you get a chance to go back in your adolescence, what would you like to do differently?
A.My mom was over protective about me because of few accidents which I underwent during
the early ages of my childhood. With today's confidence if I go back to my adolescence, I
might grow up as a different individual all together. Having said that I also feel blessed for my
existence today.
Q.Describe yourself in one sentence/word.
A.A recluse.
