Tie an overhand knot (see page6) with the
doubled cord.
Slipknot (Simple Noose)
THE SIMPLEST OF SLIDING LOOPS THAT TIGHTENS
WHEN PULLED
The slipknot, also known as the simple noose, can be tied in
any type of cordage material, be it synthetic or natural fiber.
It works well as the start of a lashing (when cordage is used
to tie two or more objects, such as sticks or poles, together).
Although included with camping knots, this one may be
useful to climbers and boaters too. This knot appears to be
an overhand with a draw loop. However, in an overhand
with draw loop, the working end forms the loop. In a slipknot
the standing part forms the loop.
