Form two loops in a rope, one in the right hand,

one in the left, as shown in the photograph.

Clove Hitch on a Stake: Step 2

Place the right-hand loop on top of the left-hand
loop. Drop the two loops over a stake and tighten

by pulling simultaneously on both ends of the
rope, taking care to maintain the distinctive

shape of the hitch.
