Three Questions Process

Real or imagined…all feelings of fear are real to the person who is experiencing them.

Acknowledge their fears and address them proactively. This automatically slows the fear

response down by allowing people to feel safe to express their fears and concerns.

Decision-making driven by "the possible" (or adverse consequences) is almost always created

by feelings of anxiety and fear. The coaching technique below will help the client to slow down

the neuro-processing centers in their brain.

Coaching Question #1: What is your greatest fear about this (situation) ?

Listen without comment, then say, thank you for sharing that.

Coaching Question #2: Now, can you give me some other options of what might happen

        instead?

And lastly, Coaching Question #3 : What do you hope will happen?

                                                                                                                                                                                    45
