Cape Cod National Seashore’s Salt PondVisitor Center is located in Eastham.The seashore offers miles of unspoiled shoreline and beaches, with marshlands and forests like a romantic’s dream. Stop by the Visitor Center to pick up a park newspaper and a listing of all the ranger programs offered, including guided canoe trips, nature and history walks, family activities, yoga on the beach, camp re talks, events and concerts. Families with 4th graders are invited to join the nationwide “Every Kid in a Park” program, which provides free passes to federal lands.Visit www.everykidinapark.gov for details.
Eastham is found on the Outer Cape, isolated from the commercial and suburban, yet a short drive to Hyannis Port, the Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket ferry service, whale watches and hundreds of other Cape Cod attractions.
Eastham is home to Cape Cod's oldest working windmill, built in the 1680s. Along with several historic buildings, sites, museums and districts, Eastham is proud of its many National Register of Historic Places designations,and have listed in the Massachusetts Historic Register:the OldTown CenterHistoricDistrict,BridgeRoadCemetery,andCoveBuryingGround,protectingourlineage.
