It's now time to go back into the eyes to make any final tweaks. This is also the time to do the bottom lash line if you want to add any definition down there. I always wait to do this until after I have used my concealer and setting powder. You may also want to add in eyeliner to the waterline. If so, now is the time!
Wipe off all your setting powder with your brush. You will see a nice glow under the eyes where it was baking. From here, I will then apply the blush. Yes, it may seem like we are jumping all over the place, but I promise I do everything in a specific order for a reason. I then apply my favourite blush to the apples of the cheeks. Ask your client to smile to help you determine where to apply this. You can blend this back into the cheekbone, so everything has a nice flow.
Highlighter is always the final step on the face. Some people do not love highlighter, so you will need to take into account whether they have oily or dry skin. Highlight the top of their cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, inner tear-duct, brow bone, and cupid's bow. When selecting a highlighter, you need to ensure it isn't "too hard" for their skin, or it can look muddy fast. Use a white/pearl-coloured highlighter if your client is fair, a golden-toned highlighter if your client has a tan, and a golden/orange highlighter if your client has a deep skin tone.
Lips can totally transform your whole makeup look. The first thing you want to do is apply lip liner on the entire lip. Doing this will help to ensure the lipstick stays on better. Then select a lipstick, either the same colour as your lip liner or a touch lighter. Add a gloss to the very centre of their lips afterward.
After you finish their lips, use a flat brush and go around the lips with a setting powder. This will help keep the lips from bleeding. This step is very important, especially if they are wearing a bold colour.
Final touches! Setting spray is critical in making sure the makeup stays in place. This also helps all of the powders on the face melt into the skin, which makes the makeup appear more seamless. Don't be afraid to really apply a lot of this - the more, the better!
