   CHAPTER EIGHT
ESSENTIAL MAKEUP LOOKS
As a makeup artist, there are certain looks that you should know how to create. The following section will describe exactly how to execute Glam Makeup and Mature Makeup.
EYEBROWS
Start off with the eyebrows. While you are doing this, look at your client's face to start planning how you're going to apply their makeup.
EYESHADOW PRIMER
Next, we are going straight to their eyes. I always prep under-eye masks on my brides. You can get these off of Amazon in bulk, and they are super inexpensive. This gives the bride a more luxurious experience.
EYESHADOW/EYELINER
After applying a primer or concealer to the eyes, you always want to set it with a translucent powder or a bone-coloured eyeshadow. This ensures the longevity of the product. After deciding on what colour scheme you are going to do, start with a light shade and work it into the crease. With any eye makeup look, you will want to start light and build on, even if you are doing an intense smokey eye. Apply the lightest shade the highest, and as you dip into the darker shades, you need to move lower down on the eye lid until you reach the lash line for the best blend. I like using a big fluffy brush and then working to a smaller brush with the darker colours.
LASHES
Apply your false lashes. Using your eyelash glue, you will need to wait until this is tacky so that it sticks to the eyelashes. I like to wait around 2 minutes after I apply the glue. Tell your client to look down, and ensure to stick it as close to the eyelash line as possible (not the eyelid). Tell them to keep looking down until the glue has dried. Once the glue is fully dry, you can then apply your mascara to the eyelashes. Always use a disposable wand OR their own mascara.
