CLIENT BOOKINGS & CONTRACTS
Creating and providing contracts for clients is essential when it comes to running a professional business. First, make sure that your contract is easy to read, and fits your brand’s aesthetic. Proofread your contracts, and always have the day, month, and year written out clearly so that you avoid any misunderstandings regarding booking dates. Include all of your pricing and upsell options as well. For example, lipstick for purchase, touch up kits, eyelashes, and airbrush foundation.
Sections
Have a section for the date of the appointment, a section for the list of services offered and their prices (including upsells), an area for the deposit amount, the balance due, photo consent, and payment information.
Start & End Times
Always make sure that you have the exact date and time written down for when you will begin, as well as when the appointment will end (have your contract clearly state where you want the client to write down the month and day).
Payment
Include an area for the client to check off whether this will be made via e-transfer or in cash (for the remaining amount on the day of). Make sure you write down what you want the client to use as the password for e- transfers, for example “please make the password beauty”.
Terms and Conditions
Including this section (second page) protects both you and the client. This will help you to avoid any misunderstandings and confusion. This also eliminates people who are not serious about the booking.
Makeup and Go Service - this is important because it states that you are free to go after you have done the makeup. This also ensures that the client knows they did not book you for the entire day, and that you are not being paid hourly but rather by the number of clients that you do makeup on.
Parking Fees - any parking fees will be paid by the client (hotel parking rates, condo buildings, etc) Cancellation Policy - if someone cancels their wedding booking within a month of the date, it’s important to
have a cancellation fee within that time.
Damages - make sure you include that you are not responsible for any damages.
Cash Collected - have a client collect cash prior to your arrival and place it in an envelope to make for an easy exchange. If you’re doing a wedding of ten people, you will have a hard time keeping track of who paid you so just ask to be e-transferred or for the cash to be collected in an envelope prior to the appointment.
Early Start Fee - if you have to wake up early you need to be compensated for that. Upgrades - your upsell options.
Travel Fees - this is usually .50 pe KM.
Phone Number - you want to be able to locate your client’s phone number quickly if you need it.
Deposits - this secures the booking and filters out who is not serious. A typical deposit will be half upfront, or 25%.
