FIGURE 28. QUICK-RELEASE (SLIPPERY) LOOP
Nothing is more frustrating than untying a bunch of tight knots when you’re breaking camp
in the morning. If you end your knots with a “quick-release” (slippery) loop, as illustrated,
you’ll be able to untie your ties with a single pull. Form the quick-release feature by
running the working end of the rope back through the completed knot—the same as making
a “bow” when you tie your shoes.
Use a simple overhand knot with a slippery loop to seal drawstring bags and stuff sacks.
