YAL's young leaders go on to pursue careers in public service, law, journalism, policy, campaigns, the private sector, and much more.
Haley Sinclair | Resolution Associate, Exact Sciences Laboratories | University of Wisconsin-Madison
YAL Role(s): Chapter member
I first got involved with Young Americans for Liberty in 2012 after seeing Ron Paul speak at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I served as the chapter's Communications and Events Director, and helped organize numerous events and conferences featuring speakers like Jeffrey Tucker and Tom Woods. Thanks to the huge network I was able to build through YAL, I landed a job in video production at Learn Liberty with the Institute for Humane Studies upon
graduation. Although I have since moved to the private sector, my time with YAL has guaranteed I'll be a liberty warrior for life.
Justin Greiss | State Field Director, Rand Paul for U.S. Senate 2016 | Elizabethtown College
YAL Role(s): Southeast Regional Director, Pennsylvania State Chair, Chapter President
I began my YAL chapter in the Fall 2013 semester. After a successful school year I was offered a position as Pennsylvania State Chair, and started ten new PA chapters in the Fall 2014 semester. After graduating in January 2015, I immediately began working for the organization that already had given me so much. As Southeast Regional Director for YAL, I oversaw 100+ chapters in nine states facilitating two regional conferences with 200 attendees each. I continue to use the education and foundation in grassroots organizing YAL instilled in me to further the movement and the ideas we believe in.
Zuri Davis| Meida Writer, Rare.us | Florida Atlantic University
YAL role(s): Chapter Officer
Young Americans for Liberty helped me gain a better, more principled philosophy after spending a lifetime on the far right. My chapter was wonderful at messaging, choosing to focus on the ideas we had in common before introducing me to other liberty ideas. My chapter was also a great professional resource, and pointed me in the direction of the internship that eventually allowed me to move and stay permanently in Washington, DC.
Michael Listmeier | Financial Adviser, Waddell & Reed | Kutztown University
YAL Role(s): Chapter Officer
YAL really opened my eyes to politics. The organization not only showed me how alarmingly divided the two main political parties have become, but that there is a third option. I got involved in the leadership of the YAL chapter at my school in its infancy and have never looked back. Not only was it rewarding, but it was also good for building leadership skills. Multiple financial firms I interviewed with inquired about the organization. I am convinced YAL strengthened my marketability during my job search and made me a better, more well-rounded individual.
KaLeigh Long | Executive Director, Conservative Leadership PAC | University of Northern Iowa
YAL role(s): Chapter Officer
Young Americans for Liberty grounded me in the principles of a constitutionally limited government and gave me a philosophical backbone. YAL also connected me with a nation-wide network of fellow liberty activists that I still work with today. If it wasn't for YAL, I would lack the resources and materials necessary to spread liberty on my college campus. In addition to these benefits, the YAL National Convention highlighted my experience as a YAL member. At YALCON, I further learned from my heroes in the movement such as Dr. Ron Paul and Judge Napolitano. I would not be where I am today without the training, leadership experience, and connections I gained from YAL.
