                                                                      Our pets are part of our family. As we come into
                                                                     relationship with other aspects of our created
                                                                    order, ‘Brother Sun and Sister Moon’ as St. Francis
                                                                    of Assisi sang, I believe we experience more and
                                                                   more of the creativity, gentleness, joy and beauty
                                                                   of God’s vision for all God has created. Caring for
                                                                  our pets is a way to exercise stewardship and care
                                                                 for creation in our own home. And our pets care
                                                                 for us, too, through their love, loyalty and affection.
                                                                It is a mutual relationship.”
