 ROUTINE
The best pitchers have a set routine following an outing where they just threw a complete game shutout or gave up 7 runs in 1 inning.
The best hitters have a set routine whether they are on a 20 game hitting streak or in an 0 for 30 slump.
These players stand out because they trust their routine, so they ride it through the good and the bad. Is it hard at times, during the slumps? Of course, but if you have a well thought out and trusted routine, you're able to minimize those setbacks. This is not to say tweaks aren't made to routines. Of course, minor changes can have major results, but your overall, big picture routine, should stay the same.
HOW TO CREATE A GREAT ROUTINE
Think about what components make up a typical day for you and write them down.
Try to identify the habits that make your life easier/better and those that do not. Remember you want to make the most of every single day.
Make sure this routine fits your lifestyle and the S.M.A.R.T. goals you are trying to achieve.
Make a timeline for these activities, try it on for size for a few days or weeks, and then make adjustments for what works and what doesn’t.
The more you do it, the better you will feel, and actually the less you will have to think about doing. These steps will put you well on your way to a great routine.
