P. 17

Personally accepting Jesus Christ's sacrifice for sin is only the beginning of our lifelong walk with God. "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life" (Romans 6:4).
True Christianity is a way of life. It affects every aspect of a converted person's existence. On our own, we fall short. As Paul wrote: "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me" (Galatians 2:20).
We grow in the fruit of God's Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) as we let Christ lead us. The biblical Holy Days picture this continuing renewal "inwardly" (2 Corinthians 4:16). Immediately following the Passover comes the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which lasts for seven days (Leviticus 23:6-8; Acts 12:3). These seven days portray the Christian's new life in Christ.
Paul referred to this festival when he wrote, "For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival [of unleavened bread], not with the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth" (1 Corinthians 5:7-8).
Christianity is a lifelong commitment to love and obey God. And it begins with accepting Christ's sacrifice. That is the meaning of the New Testament Passover Jesus gave Christians to observe.
Who We Are
This literature is offered by the Bible Fund, a non-profit organization serving the needs of people seeking a better understanding of the Holy Scriptures – which includes providing Bibles to areas of the world where they are most needed. For additional information about our work, please visit the portion of our website that outlines our purpose and mission. The true Church proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ and helps disciples of Jesus follow him (Matthew 28:19-20). The gospel announces that redemption and salvation are available through Christ, and also conveys the hope of the future coming of the fullness of the Kingdom of God, beginning with the return of Jesus Christ.
Provided Free of Charge
This literature is not to be sold. The Bible Fund offers its services and publications free of charge. These are provided through the voluntarily contributions made to support this work. We are grateful for the generous offerings of the contributors to the Fund and our extended family of co-workers. However, we do not solicit the general public for funds.
