                                                        3D Food

16 3D-printed food may sound a little odd—why would anyone
want to make food on a 3D printer when we can grow food in

the ground and cook it in our kitchens quite easily?

17 There are several reasons to make food with printers. NASA
is constantly researching how we can use technology to help

make astronauts’ lives in space more efficient and pleasant. Food
                                                        printed in space could help.

18 Also, even down here on Earth, some extremely fancy and
complicated creations are actually easier to make with a machine
                                                        than by hand.

A bowl of 3D-printed candy made from
sugar and a single added flavor
