Description Very commonly found
growing on the grassy edges of
agricultural fields, sunny hillsides and
pushtas in hill stations between 1300-
3600m. The plant is a slender herb
with elongated leaves that are 3-4cm
long. The daisy-like flowers have a
yellow centre, 1-2cm across, initially
white in colour, but older florets turn Sanjay Sondhi
pink. Usually both colours may be
found in the same clump.

Medicinal and other
uses
The entire plant may be
used a blood purifier.
The name ‘Fleabane’ is
derived from the belief
that the plant repels
fleas. The flowers are
Sanjay Sondhi edible and have a sharp, Sanjay Sondhi
radish-like taste.
