everyone that we had cancelled the Open Meeting a
few weeks before.
OK, having introduced them to the galley where the

breakfast rather hastily; a quick telephone call to
Alastair Wilson who changed his plans immediately and
was down within 15 minutes to help; likewise, Ian
Turffrey jumped in for the afternoon stint. Thanks to
them both for stepping up so quickly. Racing got under
way at 12 noon in a perfect northerly breeze for the
six Comets that turned up.
Three races were run during the day, so they had a full
programme. Although places changed and there was
some very close racing, after three races Bob Dodds
(CMYC) was the overall winner with three straight
wins. In second placed was Henry Jaggers (Bear SCV) all
